Although when I first viewed this and did not read the description, I thought he could just as well be pointing at his own belly with the dagger as if ready to commit some kind of a wicked suicide! To remove this effect somewhat, perhaps the tip of the blade could be shaded some more to be as hidden under the cape as the side of his shirt.
I really like the patches around his outfit.
